Surekha’s On The Snye - Fort McMurray

First time eating here and service and food exceeded expectations. Started with charcuterie and scallops were both well cooked and presented nicely. Wifey ordered mushroom ravioli with pancetta and shrimp was delicious and creamy. I had the farmhouse burger which had pork and bacon elevated burger. Mm yummy. Finished dinner with lemon fused cheesecake. Server was very attentive and friendly the entire service time. Well done! Back soon!

I came to the restaurant for a birthday dinner. The food and service was excellent with an open view of the river. Presentation of the food was well done and great tasting to boot! You get to meet the owner which adds a personal touch to the dining experience. It's our go to place for special occasions in the city.

When they say small plates, they quite literally mean it. You are basically paying for the view and the fancy atmosphere. While all that is great, I didn 't have the best food in town here. IMO, if you are going to have this style of dining, it better also be the best tasting in town. While taste is subjective, what I 'm saying is that there is nothing special about the dishes here.

I had a delicious lunch on two occasions here, and coffee to-go a few times. Most recently, while reviewing the menu my guest and I were offered a free taster sample of the pasta special that day. Our sandwiches were really good. Nice combination of sweet and savory flavors. Another nice surprise was free in-house made dark chocolate caramels for dessert. I recommend Surekhas for lunch. Haven't tried the dinner scene yet ... I'll let you know at another time.

I took my wife here for our Anniversary. My wife likes curry and lamb and asked the waitress if it was spicy. She said yes but she would check to see if the chef could do a milder version for her. The waitress returned and said YES they could make it milder. She couldn't eat the meal, it took my breath away as I tried it. We asked to see the manager because they changed a full price for a meal that she couldn't possibly eat after waiting 15 minutes for the waitress to try to get an answer. The manager said she would talk to the waitress, didn't offer a discount or anything. My meal was average(6/10). We travel a lot and have never been treated so badly in a restaurant!!! She knew her waitress was wrong but charged us full price for a meal my wife couldn't and didn't eat. It should have been dealt with promptly and there should have been a substitute offered.
