After a wonderful meal and experience in clay pigeon a few months ago we were very excited to return. a whole difference. although eating was very good, the mood was not the same. Maybe Tuesday nights are not a good time. the waiter was pleasant enough, but in contrast to the last time, when the whole staff made that they feel special, this time they felt that they would do a fallen one. even if it was not busy, cocktails took a long time and then we were informed that they were not able to make a caiparina. a bit brot, while the appetizers wait, was largely ignored and finally delivered with the appetizers. Although we mentioned that we celebrated two special occasions, nothing was done to recognize them beyond a candle in the desert. my two dishes the cuddly and the grilled otopus were both delicious, although the salat was ice cold with the otopus as if he had just been called out of the refrigerator.
Janelle was amazing! Would you like to talk about a waitress that can make her whole evening amazing from beginning to end, she was perfect. eating was also incredible. I started with the western sourcing and the meat and cheeseboard. we had the otopus, watermelon salad, knochenmark and mac n cheese. everything was amazing. many thanks.
Favorit in fort worth. everything is amazing. favorites are the knochenmark, bark meat tar, and the ribeye both the eye of the ribeye and, my favorite, the spinalis the most tasteful part of the ribeye. the spinalis is not on the menu in the rule. the seafood and scratch-baked pastas are also incredible.
This place has great atmosphere a fantastic wait staff and their mixologist behind the bar is outstanding. This was the third time my wife and I had dined in with the first two experiences being worthy of 5 stars. The only reason for my 3 star rating this time around is that we felt the food was not up to par with what one would expect for fine dining. My wife ordered the duck on a bed of succotash while I had the pasta of the day which had lobster. When the food came out my pasta was steaming hot like it had come right out of the boiling pot while my wife’s duck was luke warm. She found the duck texture a bit spongy which disappointed her and I found the pasta to be slightly undercooked after it cooled down. We decided to double down and see if a desert could redeem the lackluster entrees but the peach pastry that we settled on turned out to be the biggest disappointment as it tasted store bought. Mind you non of those complaints warranted the food being sent back as it was still tasty and I didn’t want to embarrass the wife on her birthday however I know from previous experience that the Clay Pigeon is capable of preparing better food. Maybe it was just an off night or they were letting a new sous chef fly solo but in comparison with other fine dining establishments like Bonnell’s the kitchen really needs to step up their game.
