Barking Mad Cafe - Gaithersburg

We had a relaxing brunch, with great food and drinks. There were many interior and exterior seats, so everyone was well spread out. Definitely recommended as brunch spot, although we really want back and try their pizzas. They looked great out of the oven.

We ate brunch in the café outside on their covered terrace bordering an open grassy community. It was an attractive area. The menu was quite limited to typical brunch tea and the food was delicious. The waiting staff was welcoming and attentive and the food was delivered very quickly. We will soon return to this restaurant.

I had a reservation and told the hostess when I arrived (first customer) on Sunday morning. I sat outside and other guests arrived after me and were seated and orders taken. My sister joined me and it took approximately 10 minutes for a server to bring a menu. Why am I making reservations when people who do not have a reservation are seated and served before me? Also, the hosts/hostesses seem to be very disorganized during the first hours of operation.

Only the patio is open for the foreseeable future so be prepared to be hot. There's no getting around it--just deal with it. At least most of the tables have umbrellas. Servers and other staff are following all safety protocols cheerfully. The Brunch menu is much closer to their regular menu than the Dinner menu is at this time. Spicy Chicken with Jalapeno Waffles and Juevos Rancheros were both excellent as were our iced coffees. I love this place.
