Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe atmosphere was beautiful and in a cute historical building. But it took us 3 hours to get through dinner, even with exactly what we wanted before the waitress came to the table every time. She forgot our drinks a few times and our bread, but it was delicious. I don't think it should be an additional fee, but that's another day. While we sat in the upper floor before many others, we saw much later than others and tables before us, although it was only 2 of us with simple commands, no dessert, never offered. We were afraid to ask because it took 30 minutes to even get water. The biggest problems we had were the fact that all their prices are wrong, each item on our bill was at least 50-90 cents more than what it was listed. It is not about the price that it is about the principle of it, list of articles for the real price. This also had nothing to do with taxes, a drink was listed for $11 on the menu, but the entrance said $11.44 for example, and we were also charged taxes on their higher prices. It's the weirdest thing I've never seen, just transparent guys jeez! Our entrees were good, but the 3 hours are waiting and moderate service is not worth. Maybe a while before we come back here
My hubs and I had an impromptu date night and decided to try Gumbo?s North in the square. They only had the upper floors open and there was live music. We really enjoyed our food containing the crust bread and garlic butter, chicken and sausage gumbo to start and I got the black shrimps. My husband has the catfish with dirty rice. The food was good, the service was great and the atmosphere felt like a local joint where people knew, come and drink and relax. We're new to Georgetown and we love the place. Come back.
The food and service are both experiences you should have. The Gumbo is so good here my Cajun friends recommend it. Some of my favorites are the pecan crust chicken and the salmon with the cooking potatoes. You will not be disappointed that you have gone to Gumbo in the square.
High quality food on the floor restaurant. The filled mushroom appetizer is AMAZING. We also had the shrimp and crust fish pasta and shrimp and beef paste. Both upper notches. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Live music was pleasant and not loud. We're definitely coming back.
I ordered the fried shrimp with vegetables and chicken and sausage gumbo. My husband ordered the fried catfish. All of that was the absolute best. I think that was the very best fried shrimp I've ever tasted in my 60 years. And the live music was perfect. Loved it!!! But...we also ordered the expresso martini...was completely tasteless. We wondered if they forgot the vodka. And my apple brie cheese salad was tasteless, as well. I don't get it. Maybe they forgot the dressing? I would have said something, but I think they were extremely short on staff and the waiter was trying his best.
