Black Horse Tavern - Girard

Went for the big reopening last weekend! nice that we made it! the food was delicious! the fish dinner had two big pieces with handcut frries! very delicious! my daughter had the boneless wing and was pleasantly surprised that they had several choices for a many number of sauces to choose. mixed drinks and a lot of beer and weeping were at the top! great eating, fun atmosphere in a beautiful historical building! the black horse is visited again due to our positive culinary experience!

I went with two friends in the reopening at night and was disappointed by our eating. I have mild chicken wings and they honestly just tasted my friend got a burger and it was burned. absolutely black. I came back and got her city chicken with maisfritter and it was amazing. the maisfritter tasted fantastic. at this point for me eating is being hit and miss, but I can't stop thinking about the maisfritten. I would really put it on the menu as an app.

Reopening under new management/ownership. looks like they really did a nice job that rebuilds the place when it was the wonderbar. new menu looks decent, the cocktail list forms beautiful, can not wait until the large opening on 5th in the position to do a complete review.

Awesome hometown bar grill; sad to see it temporarily, but look forward to a new opening. missed the previous owner, a good friend who has done a lot for the community.

Passing through from PA on our way to Wisconsin... really good little spot...local and cozy. Staff was pleasant and food portions were plentiful. Nice spot.
