Lovely fish and chips, gorgeous settings. Enjoyed my meal very much
Finally get to dine-in here after ease of lockdown. The battered cod and chips lunch set comes with a pot of tea for only £6.45. The battered cod was seriously good. One of the best in Scotland. I came hungry and left happy. Highly recommended!
To start, I had the seafood stew in a tangy tomato broth accompanied by garlic bread, while my companion had the seafood stew in a white wine sauce. Both dishes were tasty, but I preferred mine. The portions were generous for a starter. For our main courses, I had the seafood linguine in tomato passata, while my partner opted for the lobster ravioli. Again, the portions were substantial, and the food was absolutely delicious. We also ordered calamari rings as a side, but we struggled to finish them due to our fullness. The staff kindly provided us with a doggy bag to take the leftovers home. Overall, the restaurant offered a clean, bright environment with a casual vibe, delicious food, large portions, and friendly, efficient service. As Arnold S. would say, "Eating is not cheating" or something along those lines!
I would rate their squid and chips a perfect 10 out of 10. The squid was succulent, cooked to perfection, and just the right size and flavor—not greasy at all, and sourced from Scotland. The lunchtime promotional price of £5.50 is truly unbeatable. The chips were thick and crispy, just as they should be. I want to give a special shoutout and huge thanks to Keith, who served me today at 1 o'clock. He is a tremendous asset to this popular fish and chip shop. It was lovely to walk across the street and enjoy my meal in Queen’s Park, basking in the warm, fairytale sunshine.
