The andouille sausage was excellent with beautiful crispy skin and a spicy interior. The brisket was soft and delicious, and the ribs and burnt ends were solid as well. Don't miss out on the Carolina vinegar sauce and the smokehouse flavors. The real stars, though, are the sides - with spectacular coleslaw and fantastic potatoes. I highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for great BBQ or just a delicious meal!
My sister recommended this restaurant to me after she stumbled upon it while shopping. The online reviews were quite positive. However, in my opinion, there are better BBQ places around. The burnt ends were dry and the pulled pork was average. The fried apples and cole slaw were decent. The standout dish was the cornbread, which was very moist. The dining space is shared with Lee Eddie's catering and is very clean with ample seating. Unfortunately, there was no air conditioning on the hot day we visited, and access to the restroom was limited. The menu was a bit confusing, with meat priced by weight. When I inquired about ordering a sandwich, I was told that it came with a specific amount of meat, bread, and a side, which was not indicated on the menu. The service was slow and the prices were higher considering the overall quality of the food. While we only tried a few items, if they are indicative of the rest of the menu, I may not return to try more.
First off, the staff at this restaurant are very friendly and efficient in taking and preparing orders. My order was quickly prepared at this fast BBQ spot. However, I noticed that the pulled chicken and rib tips were served from a pre-made warmer pan, not freshly grilled. There was no visible grill or smoker on site. Each order only came with one cup of sauce and pickles were served in a separate cup. Overall, the meal felt like a quick and easy option when I didn't feel like cooking. It reminded me more of a fast food experience rather than a traditional BBQ meal.
We drove by rockford illinois to taste this restaurant. the first thing I can tell them is that it is worth the drive! my wife and I had the burnt ends, rib tips, mac and cheese, corn bread (cushion) and a sample of sauces. the meats have a great taste of everything there is, and the meat simply melts in the mouth. What a great taste in the smoke and the ruin. then try the unique sauces and kapow they are in eating heaven. If you are a native chicagoer, the koleslawin with which you grew up is. the mac cheese is full-bodied, creamy and oh so good! the personal is very friendly and the portions are as promised. if they are looking for a great place for wonderful aromen, they trust me this is it. only for the case that you think you're trying them out, they are in lee eddies, compared to trader joe’s in glen ellen.
Found them on google and decided to give them a try. Food was excellent, really liked the mac cheese. the bbq sauce was very flavorful. only thing was they forgot my coke, but that's my fault for not checking. Guy behind the counter was great! across from Tardier Joe's in the strip mall to the east.
