Golden Child - Glen Iris

Really enjoyed eating here with my friends, the meals were a good size, so we shared several plates. The salmon was fantastic and the pack was very delicious with real chicken. But the service was very mediocre....not attentive.

Always satisfied with the coffee and service here. The staff is friendly and accommodating. On a beautiful day you can be happy enough to score a table in the garden area from the back, but they also have tables on the hiking trail that is beautiful, as the road is not in a busy shopping area. I can't walk past the almond croissants as they are the best I had (and I had some). Friends were always happy with their choices.

I recently had lunch at this café. I preordered the beef burger after confirming that the price was $21 on their Facebook page. The meal was good and the service was great. But when I wanted to pay for my meal, I was told that the price was $23. I asked the price and was told that the $21 was an online price. I've never been given a menu and I've never been told that the price I had to pay was higher. I checked the menu on their Facebook page and it does not say that you need to order it online to get it cheaper. This is deceptive and will stop me from going back.

Consistently excellent food, the chefs have nailed the fabulous combos, fine clever spices and fantastic presentation. Coffee is great... and I'm very fussy. Love the location away from madding masses, and the garden from a neglected rat strip creates an inspiring visual treatment. Big little community here...

First time visit, won't be back. The coffee was good. Ordered the burger for lunch which was just okay. It turned out expensive with the multiple surcharges and an extra item on the bill that was not ordered. I should have checked the invoice before I left. Service was good with the coffees served promptly. Would have been better if the coffees had come as ordered. It was not that busy for a Sunday morning so I'm not sure why there were so many mistakes. Lots of choices in the area I'll make a different one next time.
