My husband and I were on a group tour and the tour brought us to this restaurant for lunch. We were two hours late because a 2 girls on our tour coming back late so we were starving when we got here. We were served pretty quickly and the food was amazing. I had local fish and my husband had local meat. Both were absolutely delicious! The server did forget a few things we ordered but she was still super friendly and nice. My only complaint was the mango shake. It was all vanilla ice cream, it even came out white. When I said something to the server she also agreed. She took back the drink. When it came back, there was a tiny bit of yellow at the bottom of the cup and it was extremely liquidity. So I think the person who made it added a tiny bit of juice which went to the bottom and then milk. I wouldn’t recommend getting the milkshakes and our friends ordered the fresh orange juice which she stated wasn’t good or fresh. Other than that the view is amazing and so it the food! I included a picture of the street the restaurant is on, but I forgot to take a picture from the back.
I went with my husband for lunch and we ordered spinach and feta pasta and catch of the day which was yellow tail. Food quality and quantity excellent. Nice view of the beach from the restaurant. Options for vegetarians available. Would recommend it.
Our expectations weren't high when we visited recently. I was expecting a restaurant that was aiming squarely at visitors and not much concerned with delivering a quality product, sadly that's what we've come to expect from a lot of establishments in this area. Glad to say that we were wrong. The service and good were really good, and reasonably priced as well. I can recommend the fish chips, fresh, tasty and delicious. Will definitely be back.
Wow! From the second you walk into this quaint restaurant on Simonstown harbour, it 's a great experience!! The welcome is warm and friendly from all the staff!! The menu is varied enough, including kiddies options, but really in a place like this, why order anything other than fish!? I have never tasted such outstanding fried hake! Fresh, crispy and just delicious. My companion had the 'catch of the day ' which was grilled yellowtail also delicious. For dessert we had the pancakes with sticky toffee sauce and ice cream. We said we 'd be sharing it and it arrived, already thoughtfully divided into separate portions for each of us!! For me, service like that is really top notch!! Lunchtime is busy. If you want to sit outside on the deck I 'd recommend that you make a prior booking!! The entire outside deck 's tables were reserved. If I lived in the area I 'd definitely visit here regularly!!! All you Joburgers who are heading down to the Cape for December holidays, pop down to Simonstown and visit The Harbour View. Tell them I sent you!!!
