Avaliação da contribuiçãoThis restaurant used to be one of my favorites, but recently the quality of both the service and food has declined. I had lunch there today and it will be my last visit. I had to wait an excessive amount of time for a plate of noodles, despite only about half of the tables being occupied. The noodles were overcooked and the service was virtually nonexistent. It's a disappointing change from what used to be a great dining experience.
Avoid this place if you don't want to feel like a burden. The service is terrible.
On Mother's Day, we ordered dumplings for delivery, but our meal arrived missing a portion of dumplings. Additionally, the promised discount voucher for a future purchase was not included. When we called to complain about the missing dumplings, we were assured that the discount would be honored on our next order. Despite a lengthy phone conversation, the discount was reduced and upon delivery, the driver demanded a paper voucher or cash. When we called the restaurant again, they claimed to have no record of the discount and insinuated that we were being dishonest. Thankfully, there are plenty of other dumpling and noodle restaurants in Adelaide for us to try out.
I am not really sure why the previous reviews were so bad. What we found with this place was just the opposite. It was a Sunday and they are not usually opened for dinner. But she opened it up just for us, even though it...was just the of us. She was soooo friendly and nice. The food was just incredible. I could honestly say the best Chinese food I have ever eaten, so different to the other places. We've had their dumplings and tea before and knew they were going to be great but didn't expect the rest of the food to be just so different and amazing. Not the typical truck load of oil and soya sauce. Each dish had it's own flavour and taste. Cumin Lamb, and Tea smoked duck are just two of those dishes that just blew my mind. If you are a tea lover, well just like a wine list there is a tea list. I think those who didn't like it are probably looking for a place where it is sadly the Australian version of Chinese food. The owners English is not so good, so maybe some consider that to be rude. We were recently in Shanghai and our Chinese was horrible, well non existent. So before we start chiming if you are in this country learn the language, we need to understand is that learning a second language doesn't come very naturally or easy to many. If you want to eat Chinese, then I think it is up to you learn a bit about their culture and food too.
This is my second review for this restaurant. Against my better judgement I made a lunch reservation today I should have known better. We were seated at and our lunch order prompty taken. minutes later, still no food, even though other patrons...(who came after us) had been served. I asked the waitress several times where our food was and each time was told minutes'. The rice finally came out, but no main courses. By the time they arrived the rice (as a side dish) was cold. When I complained to the manager, she said there had been an unavoidable mixup with the order system. Chaotic more like it. If you want a decent Chinese meal and excellent service go to the restsurant across the road. I will NEVER dine at the Shanghai again.
