Avaliação da contribuiçãoI ordered pad thai, bun bo hue, and a vermicelli dish. The portions were large and offered great value for the price. The flavors were unique compared to other restaurants I have visited in Ottawa, but it still provided that comforting satisfaction. I would definitely order from here again!
I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance after walking almost 5km in the cold weather. I was craving something with hot broth and immediately thought of Pho, my hometown food. I used Google to search for Vietnamese restaurants nearby and Pho V popped up first. I was so hungry that I initially thought I could eat two bowls of Pho, but opted for a medium size instead. The Pho here was incredibly delicious, achieving 85-90% of the taste of Pho in Vietnam. The broth was fragrant and sweet. I ordered a special bowl to try all the toppings and was especially impressed by the crispy shrimp wraps with sweet chili sauce. Despite the slightly slow service due to a high volume of orders, the quality of the food made it worth the wait. I will definitely be coming back to try more dishes.
The portions at this restaurant are extremely generous. The large bowl of pho I ordered was so big that I had to share it with my friend. It was delicious and I would give it a 10/10 for quality. Even though my order took longer than expected to come out, the staff made up for it by giving me a complimentary appetizer, which was a nice gesture. I also highly recommend trying the Vietnamese iced coffee, just make sure to ask for the regular strength if you're not used to strong coffee.
Solid tasting and well priced Pho. I've ordered from here a couple times and have always been happy with the food. Well packaged and well portioned. I typically order the Beef, sometimes get the tripe. This time around though was the first time I dined in person, and I went with the chicken pho, along with a side of BBQ chicken summer rolls. Both were great. The summer rolls came first, accompanied with a peanut sauce. I chomped those down no problem. The chicken pho arrived shortly after I finished and was the perfect temperature. I was surprised at how much chicken and noodles there were (in a good way). I find some places skimp out on the meat, but I just kept finding chicken strips and noodles. The service was great as well. Not sure what the waitress' name is but she was very nice and very attentive. Definitely a nice spot. About as good as the pho you'll get downtown in China town. If you live or are staying in the East-end of Ottawa, I find it's a great option if you don't want to drive to China town/find parking.
This restaurant is close to home, so we end up visiting it frequently. So we can only comment on the menu items that we have tried so far ...Appetizer: favorite one is the shrimp tempura, we usually end up ordering it. others that we've tried are calamari, won ton soup, and tom yum soup, all very good.Pho (noodle soup): excellent! love it!Egg-noodle: very good. have not had it in quite some time, so it was a welcome satisfaction to the taste budsRice dishes: my parents always order these, and they always enjoy it.Pad-Tai: unfortunately, way too salty the one time we tried it
