Recommend this restaurant. sa in one of their cells that was a great experience. eating was amazing could not blame. good value.

Eating was amazing, but it took a little while to serve and get out for eating. eating was fantastic and enjoyed the ambiente of the restaurant.

Forst visit a year ago was amazing. This time less so due to service and staff. Food was still great. One staff member seemed reasonably happy, the rest stressed and looked miserable. Took long time to get seated in empty restaurant. 20 min wait after main meal finished to see a waitress. Had to get up and go to the bar. Not acceptable. No notice that booking advised special occasion for birthday. No tip given for above reasons. Staff as well as food and ambience make the difference between a good or bad experience. 50/50 this time good and bad due to staff. This is a lovely gem in Gravesend, the food is excellent and the historic building lovely. It's important that the right staff are trained and also employed if this restaurant is to maintain what was the first time last year, a very pleasant surprise. Will most likely give this place one more try and whether we go back will depend on whether the 3rd visit is different to the 2nd.
