Chinese Express - Gulfport

The service was very friendly, and the place was clean. They had a pretty decent selection of food at great prices. My problem was the flavor of the food. The noodles were very bland and had kind of a plain spaghetti noodle flavor. The orange chicken would have been better had the chicken been a bit less soggy and more crispy. The beef and broccoli was OK. The vegetarian rolls had an off taste. Went during the soft opening. Will give another shot once they have been open for a few more weeks.

First off, my drive through order was missing an orange chicken combo and I called to let them know I was going to bring the enire order back to verify what I was given. Before I could get my simple explanation out, the young lady on the phone in a rather defensive manner stated that we got the orange chicken. I tried to explain that we ordered a regular orange chicken and a kids orange chicken. She then asked for the receipt number and then a transaction number which I couldnt find and when I asked where to find it, she got frustrated, said bring the receipt and hung up. That is why you get 1 star! Seondly, upon returning to the restaurant, we were greeted by a more congenial person, perhaps the manager. She was friendly, very apologetic and corrected the young lady we spoke to on the phone. I appreciate her customer service but personally, I think the forgotton combo should have been comped. As for the food, when I finally got to eat, I was not impressed. The chow mein was like bland spaghetti; the Mongolian beef was a bit sweet and the egg rolls were void of Chinese spices. I am from California. I should know better then to order Chinese food in the South.

Order a combi for delivery and eating was excellent. all three dishes (broccoli beef, black pepper chicken and sweet and sour chicken) tasted great and the portions were generous. my mistake, not to make a photo. will definitely be ordered again by them.

I get the broccoli with beef and mandarin chicken every time and they are amazing for such a great price! I wasn't sure about this place before I tried it for some of the reviews, but I was so pleasantly surprised. Very recommended for cheap local Chinese foods that is actually good.
