Avaliação da contribuiçãoHungry Hollow is a small family restaurant that specializes in fried chicken, ribs and pulled meat The owners were very friendly and wait staff always made sure you're okay. Their fried chicken was my favorite- crispy, juicy and delicious. The pulled beef was okay and a bit dry but the sauce is really tasty. They have different house sauces which were really good especially the spicier ones like the heat and mesquita. The sides such as corn, fries, Mac n cheese and coleslaw were pretty good. If you are ever in Georgetown area, worth a trip to drop by and try Hungry Hollow.
My girlfriend and I had enjoyed a great round at Eagle Ridge Golf Club and decided to give this place a try based on a friend's recommendation. Upon finding this unassuming place in a strip mall, we were somewhat taken aback, but figured, it's all about the food. Entry was similarly underwhelming - a 50's garage sale decor, sort of cafeteria style ordering process. But as we waited for our food, noticed copious amounts of food in front of delighted patrons who were obviously enjoying it. Our arrived with little fanfare, but when we started to enjoy the food, all I can say is it was outstanding BBQ. I've had food from a number of highly rated venues in the US south, this rivals or surpasses them all. We both enjoyed a half rack of baby back ribs and split a red-neck poutine. They were excellent. This is a definite must see in Georgetown and I later understood it was featured on "You Gotta Eat Here" TV series. next time, I'll try the brisket, it looked fabulous and the way the neighbouring table was eating it, tasted as good as it looked. Overall experience was very good to excellent. Decor etc, very eclectic 50's garage sale theme, service good, food outstanding, portion size was good with a number of "hungry man" options for the big eater. Value was very good. Get there early if you want to eat in. They seem to do a lot of takeout as well. Not only will recommend to a friend, but are planning a pilgrimage with a group of friends soon!
Service and food are terrific, lots of joices for their sauces.their mac and cheese are amazing. Great place!
Stopped in after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. We were most impressed. There were two couples all eating different meals. It was unanimous in our approval. Everything was tasty. Be prepared to wait a few minutes for your food. Like anything worth eating, it is prepared fresh!!
We came to Georgetown to get Puppers Lager from the LCBO because Guelph won't get any. HUNGRY Hollow came recommended, so here we are. It smells so good in here! Quaint little smokehouse with interesting flair everywhere to keep the eyes busy. Fav mural: I Like Pig Butts and I Cannot Lie.Orders are taken at the counter and food is expo'd to your table. I like the atmosphere in here, it's not a superficial and sterile appeal like the newer places seem to all be moving toward.Ordered at 2:58pmFood arrived 3:07pmThis brisket is amazing. Smokey and tender and you can tell this animal was weĺl loved! #kiddingnotkiddingComes with a generous helping of fries and the side I chose was coleslaw, which is 7/10 but also a generous serving. My friend pointed out there's a condiment pump station with about a baker' s dozen condiments. I can see why this smokehouse was featured on "You gotta eat here" as the portions are huge and the meat is really good. I'm not a huge fan of the style of fries, personally.
