Mattson to Go - Hamilton

My family stopped by for drinks as we were curious about this new spot on James St. Wow! This place is sleek, sexy, warm and inviting all at the same time. The food is rustic and delicious. The staff were attentive without being annoying and were able to make some very good suggestions. Will definitely be back again the next time I'm in Hamilton.

Went for lunch here two days in a row bc it was so good! Healthy, good portions and impeccable service.

I just had an awesome lunch at Mattson to Go. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is chic, and the staff are really outgoing and attentive. I'll be back for sure ... :)

I was intrigued by this place because of its vegan options and how it openly advertises to vegans on its menu, social media and websites and took the opportunity to try it out for lunch. They were out of many items that were listed on their options display including the bread, cheese and sauce I requested, no big deal I chose other options but it was kind of disappointing. The lady serving me while very nice and trying to be helpful spent a lot of time looking for/inquiring about ingredients. They gave me a piece of banana bread to compensate for the inconvenience and while appreciated, I had to inquire about whether it at eggs/dairy which it did and then replaced it with a vegan alternative. I had the bbq pulled sweet potato option for my sandwich and I would say that it was decent but it lacked bbq sauce and the sauce was quite sweet paired with the sweet potato was a bit much. I had a green mixed arugula salad and it was good. The banana bread was a little bland. It was an okay lunch but a bit underwhelming. I write this review in the hopes that Mattson to Go can improve their service and ensure that the items listed are in stock, or at least have the staff informed that they are not in stock so they don't have to look all over for them before advising the customer. It came off as unorganized. I think this place has a lot of potential and could be great with a few changes. The staff I dealt with were very nice and the restaurant itself was clean and beautiful.

Welcoming and gracious staff. Decor is clean and classy. The food is spectacular! First time here. We will be back. So delighted at this great addition to James South! In short, love the people, the place and the food
