The Pheasant Plucker - Hamilton

It came with about 1 1⁄2 tassen of inedible green brooms, ho hum mashed kartoffeln, but worse of everything was the potcake. partly shaken on the kartoffels and with a laborious spatter of bernaise sauce, inside a few shreds of lobster,...no identifiable shell and gray potatoes with each dive of my fork. it was terrible. No one asked if something was missing when my food remained unoccupied. we actually felt avoided. the payment machine was dropped on the table and we were then left.

I'm regular customer at pheasant plucker. take these days, but eagerly waiting end of the lock-off for some summer terrace time! Eating is always excellent and punctual, and the personal a real joy they find out for themselves!

Wanted to find somewhere different to go for dinner. Had gift cards for the unique group. Looked at the menu seemed good. First thing the server asked if we were there to eat or drink. We said eat she then said we could sit at...only 1 of 2 tables. Also we were told we had to be finished eating by a certain time. Didn't clue in should have walked out then. This us not a restaurant. Pub maybe

When I used to work at St Joes we would all go in after our shift ..clean place, fun atmosphere..Now I wont go back, waited 20 minutes to be greated by waitstaff..food was ok...never asked if I wanted another beer as my pint sat empty...for at least 20 minutes, went up to bar to finally get my bill..whole dreadfull experience took 90 minutes.UNSURE what happened to this place but for a Friday night sure seemed quite to me

This past Saturday we surprised my husband with an early Father's Day get-together with family. I chose this place because we had tried other restaurants in their Restaurant group and since the Powerhouse could not accommodate us for the evening too busy.. we decided to give the Pheasant Plucker a try. Parking near here is not free...not any that we could find but it was reasonable for a Sat evening. $4.00)...just a block away. The restaurant serves a number of choices for draught beer and interestingly had something I had not yet seen....mixed drinks with the addition of beer ! I decided to try the Pheasant Punch which was Belgian Moon I think and southern comfort with juice...not bad ...a little sweet but fairly tasty. Too sweet to have a second though. The wine list is short but offers a few decent choices. Most of our party need up deciding on the Fish and Chips , while I chose the Bison Shepherd's Pie and my granddaughter chose the kids pasta with butter and cheese. For a starter we decided to try the breaded Cheese Curds. These arrived in decent time and were quite tasty...accompanied by a marinara type sauce. The grandchildren declared these a hit. The mains arrived in good time and were enjoyed by all. I was expecting my bison shepherds pie to perhaps be gamey but it wasn't at all. The meat (bison and beef also was really tasty and plentiful. It was accompanied by a side salad which for me had too many red onions in for a small salad. However ...minus the onions it was fresh and tasty. The portions were definitely adequate and only the little ones had room for dessert. They each ordered a dish of ice cream which neither could finish. Service was a little intermittent at times...even though it wasn't busy.....perhaps even that could have been why ? Overall though all was good and if we return I would like to try the breakfast menu. Prices are comparable to most restaurants these days....average but not cheap and not outrageous.
