Avaliação da contribuiçãoI ordered two coffees and when I got them, they were made incorrectly and tasted awful. When I told the staff, they said they could remake them but I would have to wait for everyone else in the shop to be served first. After waiting and receiving my coffees, I noticed they were undrinkable. The girl behind the counter gave me a dirty look as I left the shop. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.
I used to steer clear of Gloria Jeans due to prejudice, but decided to give it a try as part of my goal to visit every place on Beaumont Street. The staff were excellent, but I found the coffee to be extremely bitter and unpleasant. With so many independent, high-quality coffee shops in the area, I'm not sure how Gloria Jeans will be able to compete.
The food was good and the Hot Chocolate was to the standard that I expected. The young people on duty were wonderful and let me use the toilet [for which I was most grateful] even before I made an order.
Why anyone would stop at Gloria Jeans when there is an abundance of locally owned cafes on Beaumont Street is beyond me.
This charming cafe is run by the local community and also features a library and book exchange, with a touch of arts.
