Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious and the location is stunning!
We loved Morse's and would always eat there whenever we were in the area (often multiple times per trip!). Sadly, Morse's has permanently closed, another victim of the pandemic. We were actually there on its final night of service in 2021. It's a real shame for the community, and we are devastated that this beloved restaurant is no longer open.
The lobster at this restaurant is delicious, with a casual old-school Maine atmosphere. They also serve good draft beer. I personally enjoyed the chilled lobster tail during my visit.
The food is fine, but average seafood fare. The atmosphere is always (in normal times) a bit overcrowded and not as friendly as Maine is, usually. The place seems uncomfortably jammed many times. More tourists seem to go to this place than to other locations. Now for the real kicker: the service. I went to dinner here with my long-term boyfriend, who happened to be more than 10 years younger than me. We had a nice corner table and were ready to enjoy a nice meal. The waitress, who had apparently been there for years, asked if I was his possibly mother. Then when told no, sized us up, and congratulated me for having a younger boyfriend. It was rude, unwelcome, embarrassing, and I've never forgotten it. I never will. We had been dating seriously for twelve years. Age hadn't been an issue, but it ruined this evening. I was self-conscious about it ever after. That waitress projected a lot onto us, including her judgements, that I felt to my core. I don't think she necessarily reflects all of the staff there, but they should be trained to be better human beings than that. Her condescension and snide cracks hurt. I won't go back.
Great food. Blueberry lemonade was so delicious. Chowder was so good. Salad yum. Felt safe as waitress put on mask when it starting getting busy. Thanks Dawn. You put us at ease.
