The mains were also brilliant, I haven't had as good a schnitzel since I...lived in Germany. The pub itself is a beautiful and spacious historic building with plaques explaining the history of the building. Staff were attentive and the gentleman in the kitchen was lovely throughout. The pub currently uses an app for ordering which worked well and wasn't as annoying as some other apps used currently. I would absolutely recommend.
We visited on 3rd Feb (evening) Great atmosphere the bar was very busy with only 2 staff on and large group of people from the armed forces had turned up it was so nice to see a bit of normality in a bar everyone was...having a great time. The staff worked so hard and the and service was great in spite of it being so busy well done to you both. The food we ordered was perfect really tasty and hot. Everywhere was spotlessly clean with covid precautions in place. Thanks for a great night.
Good food, friendly helpful staff, return visit justified! Good selection of gins, very relaxing watching the world go by, with Best Beloved. X
We wanted somewhere informal and relaxing to have a bite to eat, we were not disappointed. As soon as we walked through the door we were immediately greeted by one of the gents behind the bar and made to feel welcome. The menu had a...good selection for fussy old me, I opted for the steak and ale pie which was very tasty, my other half had the toad in the hole and managed to polish it off in record time! Very reasonably priced, premises was spotlessly clean, definitely recommended.
Pub ok, but avoid the famous Steak Pie. what was little meat in there was cracked and only suitable for dog food.
