The King I was a great surprise. We had been searching for a new Thai restaurant since Thai Palace in Bloomfield was under new management and the food was no longer edible. This restaurant has a large menu with many suggestions and photos. It is a tiny place with ample off street parking and very cozy and romantic. If you BYOB they offer free ice bucket with glasses. Waitress was very cordial, pleasant and friendly. We ordered two soups, an appetizer and one dish. Each small soup is enough for two and after the chicken dumplings we couldn’t even finish the pineapple, rice and shrimp with yellow curry. We look forward to returning for their lunch, which has smaller portions. It would be nice if lunch included a free small soup as lunch special.
The food here is good. My biggest problem is that they do not open when they are suppose too. When I first started coming here the opening hour was at 11:30 . But they were hardly if ever opened at that time. Then it changed to 12 pm and still they are not opened at that time. I was there Friday waiting for them to open but by 12:20 they were still closed. Today they were closed and that was at 1pm. Super frustrating.
Always favorite one! They have authentic food! Had spicy mango salmon recently and absolutely loved it. Pad Ke may was amazing too!
I had not been to King and I in years. Tried it again and glad my friend and I did. We did take out. The appetizers we had Shrimp Roll and Thai Egg Roll were very good. I especially liked the egg roll. They were a bit more greasy then I would have liked, but otherwise, very tasty. Both the wonton soup and tom kar soup were yummy and loaded with vegetables. Our main dishes were Chicken Ram and Pineapple Fried Rice. Both were excellent, tasty and plentiful. Highly recommend.
