Uncle Larry's Rustic Inn - Hartford

We discovered this restaurant after hiking at Pike Lake and were very hungry. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was calming, and the conversations were pleasant. The servers, all of whom were male, were polite and not intrusive at all. We had a wonderful time relaxing here. Highly recommended!

My husband ordered a dish labeled as lake perch, but I’m not sure what it actually was—it definitely didn’t taste like fresh lake perch. The stripes were on the inner curve of the fish; shouldn't they be on the outside? Also, don't order their chicken on a Friday because it had a fishy taste. On a positive note, the service was excellent.

Terrible food, terrible service they took all of the steak off the menu and didn't bother to take it off the internet. Ribs tasted like chicken and chicken tasted like pork. Wine served in a little screwtop bottle. No good, will never go there again Uncle Larry. You're on your way out. They went from an 8 page menu down to a piece of paper.

If you want a great steak sandwich? You WONT find it here. In fact, there is no steak on the menu. I wish they had changed all of their menus from 8 pages down to handing the customer a piece of paper with a few burgers, some pork ribs and a few other very overpriced items. My food was terrible. Baked French onion was overloaded with sage and thyme from their croutons. Ruined the soup which was just warm. If you want a cozy atmosphere? Nope. Ask for a glass of wine they come with a little bottle with a screw top. It's very tacky. The service was the worse I ever had. We waited and waited and waited longer. There wasn't enough help. I will never go back there. My experience was Terrible. The chicken tasted like ribs and ribs tasted like chicken. Cooking was amateur at best. It was very expensive and tasted awful. I won't be back. 3rd rate operation. They look like they're on their way out cutting the menu cause they don't have but one item that is suppose to resemble a steak and the rest is ****
