Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe have visited No8 several times and highly recommend this restaurant to our guests. We wanted to officially compliment them on Tripadvisor after enjoying another wonderful lunch, served by our friendly and informative waitress Evie. Since our first visit, the owner/chef David has always been welcoming and friendly, and his culinary skills are excellent. The menu at No8 is always changing with fantastic options made from fresh ingredients, and the atmosphere is cozy and intimate. We will definitely continue to dine here and suggest this hidden gem in Hastings to others.
The food and service provided by the waitresses were exceptional. Although there was a slow start and a rushed end, we still enjoyed our meal. However, we had a negative experience when the chef patron called me a derogatory name and tried to blame me for it. Despite receiving good service from the waitresses, we were disappointed by the chef's behavior and would not recommend giving this restaurant a chance. We tipped the waitresses and commented on the chef, to which the waitress raised her eyebrows, indicating that our experience was not unique.
We had lunch on a Saturday at this restaurant. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, with a somewhat rustic yet comfortable feel. We were greeted warmly as soon as we arrived. The menu had a variety of meat and vegetarian options, although we were not sure about vegan options. There were also daily specials based on the available fish. We started with a feta cheese, olive, and melon salad, as well as hummus with special bread, both of which we enjoyed. For our main course, we chose the Fish Pie from the specials menu, which was filled with fish in a flavorful sauce. We also had cocktails, which were traditional and strong, unlike many cocktails these days. The staff, a young lady and gentleman, were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had a great meal without being intrusive. Overall, we had a great experience at this restaurant and highly recommend it. We will likely return the next time we are in Hastings.
We booked a table on a Friday night for 3 of us. We love seafood and wanted to try something different. We all had monkfish with parmesan mash, brocoli and hollandaisse sauce. We were all not only impressed with the speed of its arrival, but the quality was exceptional. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and the family feel of the place made it extra special. It was also nice to see the chef and be able to compliment him personally. The desert menu was very good with something for everyone, however the sticky toffee pudding was the best we have had ever!!! They had a good back bar and cocktails on offer too
As a dog friendly establishment recommended online we visited in the week and we not dissatisfied! Service and food was amazing! Chatted to the owner who went out of his way to spoil our doggos and made to feel very welcome. Food was delicious, looked and tasted incredible! Highly recommended on all accounts.
