Stooge Coffee - Hastings

Out of 6 cake options 4 were vegan; 2 kinds of dried fruit and nut bars, a brownie and a marzipan cake. They also served vegan milk. The server was very helpful telling us the ingredients of the cakes when asked and the cakes we ordered were very tasty. I think we got the last ones of each, but it was 4.30 on a Saturday. Would visit again

The place to go for speciality coffee, supplied by the excellent Pharmacie in Brighton. Espresso drinks are always prepared with care (they weigh and time every shot). Would highly recommend trying the 18 hour cold brew coffee or the turmeric latte if you fancy something different though. The (vegan) Super Dark Brownie they often sell is very special. Nice that they let their customers buy lunch from the vegetarian wholefood shop next door, who offer a good range of wraps, salads, vegan sausage rolls etc. At the time of writing this review, the map marker is a bit misleading; the shop is actually pretty central, just off Robertson Street and the seafront.

I enjoyed an oat latte and a vegan toastie, both of which were excellent. The toastie, in particular, was outstanding—it was made on focaccia and filled with hummus, olives, spinach, mushrooms, and more! The staff were friendly, and there was a pleasant atmosphere, enhanced by a few dogs playing around. It was a bit pricey—my coffee and toastie totaled over £10—but I would definitely recommend it.
