Izote - Hattiesburg

It's good. I mean I haven't had a WOW meal there yet but the food is good and we like karaoke there. I just keep waiting for that WOW meal

Easily one of the best hangouts in the city! Authentic Mexican food perfectly spiced, great drinks, and karaoke on Fridays. The staff is warm and attentive, the margaritas are plentiful, and do yourself a favor... TRY THE STEAK. Seriously, we have a blast here, two thumbs up.

We went around 5:00pm on Sunday. There was someone playing music in the bar area, he sounded good, and the bar was quite lively. The music was pretty loud, but not deafening. We sat in the main dining room rather than the bar and could hear every word he sang. Overall a nice experience. The main dining room was completely empty other than us and one other person sitting alone. It's an underrated restaurant. Definitely one of the better mexican restaurants in town.

My experience is mixed with this place. I live the pleasent attitude of the staff. They are on point with service and getting food orders correct. The food comes out hot and the drinks come out cold. The drinks have proper amount of alcohol. The food amount is not to much but not too little as well. I came in thirty minutes before closing and they were welcoming. I knew we had to eat fast but towards the end of our time. The waitress started to rush us out the door. I understand closing time is set. I do just wish next time the waitress would let me know they have closed before grabbing the tip and food running to the back. I lost track of time otherwise a great place. Really nice place to eat.

Staff was friendly and welcoming. The tortilla chips tasted burnt, the burrito I ordered tasted off. There was very little chicken in it, a lot of beans and rice (which tasted gross), way too many jalapenos. The establishment appeared to be clean, however, the ceiling needs repair in certain areas. The booth seats were uncomfortable. Would not recommend.
