Tacos Vamonos - Hayes

Only things missing were chickens, dirt floor and a Marachi Band. The place was bland. No feel for any traditional flair. Interesting menu but sparse. Food served to our table in a white bag didn’t add to the ambiance. Could at least get some baskets from Tree to class things up a bit. The chips either didn’t cook long enough or staying in the bag too long that made quite a few get soggy. Some background music would help and by all means a sign outside. We were there for a Saturday lunch with one other customer doing take out so maybe not a good time to judge. Their prices are comparable to other Mexican restaurants but at those your choices are better. So for us this is one restaurant we will Vamonos from.

Ordered off Door Dash-the food was absolutely amazing and a ton of flavor!

We had read the reviews on Facebook and we were excited to try them. It ended in disappointment. To start the decorations are just strange. It looks like they went to Spencer's and got a bunch of posters. The staff was pleasant and nice. But the food just wasn't good. We ordered 2 burritos. Both were supposed to have shredded beef. One's beef was hard and the other's was mushy. How does that even happen? The salsa was bland and had a strange taste. The queso tasted like it came from a can. You're up charged for the queso as well and they just give a small drizzle. The only good part of the meal was the chips.

I love checking out new restaurants and I'm so happy to have another one in Gloucester. I saw the reviews and wanted to really like it--you can tell that the proprietors worked really hard. It's not bad. It's not great. But you get a decent amount of food for a decent amount of money. I paid $10 for the lunch taco box combo which includes a bottle of any soda or the Mexican soda. They are trying hard. I wish they would save money on the packaging and the soda (I would be ok with a can it you can't do fountain drinks) to try to spend more money on the food. Y'all should up charge for the Mexican soda! The chips were hot and salty-yum.The salsa was ok. You can tell they made it but I wish they had different spice levels. Mild was flavorful but not what I wanted. Queso was ok...I honestly think was way full before I got to the queso. I wish they warmed up the tortillas after wrapping the burrito. The inside was hot but tortilla cold. Easy fix. It's a step up from Taco Bell but they need to have a specialty sauce that makes people come back. Nice staff.
