The location is good with sitting opportunities in free. a tapas restaurant, so in portions are small, but the menu options are not much varied. for the first time they visit it or a Spanish kitchen to have a good place. the food tasted okay.
Saw outside and had a great experience people watching on one of the most important pedestrian streets in old heidelberg. it took a bit to offer someone to the service. menu offered good tapas options (bef, veggie, huh, gay, etc). all tasted good, but would have had a bit more seasoned to add the Spanish tapas theme.
We had lunch here in the afternoon mistake to think they serve lots of tapas instead it took nearly an hour and they brought out the cold and hot tapas all together! Definitely more of a wine bar. Should have skipped the food. (Although...the tortilla and the chorizo were ok.
Went here with my wife in May 2013. We were tired of German food after a week of sausages and sauerkraut so we thought this would be nice change. The interior is quite small and a bit tight but not uncomfortable if you're used to...restaurants in big cities. There are a few tables outside as well. Might have been a fluke, but our waitress did not speak much English and consequently botched our order a bit. The food was generally tasty, almost everything was soaking in oil. We had a bottle of Spanish wine, which was a nice touch. I would absolutely recommend La Tapa for those who are in town for an extended period and looking for something different, but if you're just in town briefly and can wait for your favorite tapas bar at home, you're probably better off.
