The Gold And Western - Helena

Fun, inviting bar in downtown Helena. The bartender was super friendly and accommodating. We stopped here while traveling and he gave us some great recommendations as well. Definitely roll the dice you get two rolls a day to win 2 , fairly decent sized pots of cash

I came here two different times during my stay in Helena and both had different environments. The first time was on a Monday night when there were very few people. The noise levels were normal with only a couple people playing pool and most people were at the bar. The second time was on a Friday night when I came here with some friendly people I met at the previous bar and it was completed packed and loud. You can tell that this is very much a young person's bar and the cheap $3 well drinks give that away. They actually have a bourbon ginger lime cocktail that is actually decent for $3.25. The service is good even for how busy it was and is a good place to get a good buzz and hang out with some friends.

Awful place. I swear they just never keep this place clean. I understand it's a bar, and yes bars will not be the cleanest give or take, but seriously they need to step it up. I went down here with my buddy to grab a few drinks about a week or 2 ago, I walked into the restroom just to see literal poop smeared all over the walls, and mirrors. Absolutely disgusting. Will not be returning.

Thank you Sara staff for making an inclusionary place for the members of the LGBTQ+ community in Helena. I look forward towards your plans to bring events to this venue. I feel like I belong here. You make make Helena feel like home in a red state. Thank you!

I would drive miles and miles for those crispy potatoes. My son says they are a bit too salty, but he is not old enough to order a beer with them yet. The salad was great. And my kid says the burger was delicious, we are heading back ASAP.
