Kroatien - Herford

My friends and I were visiting Herford for the weekend as it was years since we all met at Harewood Barracks. The Bosna restaurant that was across the road from the camp is now a Greek restaurant and we decided to try Kroatien. It...was excellent! Three of us had Pola Pola, our old favourite and the fourth had jager schnitzel. The food was excellent, the portions large and the service fast and friendly.

We have eaten here on several occasions, my husband always sticks to what he likes which is the liver and is pleased every time he has it as it's cooked to perfection. Portions are generous and there is plentiful of meat with potatoes. Language can...be an issue but after all you are in Germany.

This restaurant is located a bit outsied of the city center along the way to the to Hannover. Going up the hill on the right side. Ample of parking opportunities are available and even though the street is busy you do not notice once...inside. The decoration is slight so not overdone in any way but still the balkan theme comes through. Croation kitchen is not none for refinement it normally comes in huge portions of meat with huge amounts of sided and this restaurant is no exception. It is tasty and rural but well done food which will make you leave full and satisfied but surely it is far away from any gault millau kitchen. So if you are hungry for exactly this, this is the place to go, the staff is freindly the wine is good, so nothing for a special evening but for some meatlovers just to right place.

With 6 friends we were in the restaurant croatia tonight. the restaurant is very bright and clean. we were kindly received and led to the reserved table. the waiters were unobtrusive and attentive. eating was typical croatian tasty with fresh salad before. meat lovers come to their tastes. high quality grill and house plate for the quantity very inexpensive. also the dessert was delicious. freshly prepared palat ham with chocolate sauce. at the front and back I can only recommend short drinks such as slibowitz, kruskowatsch and or palinka. all relatiw inexpensive and really delicious.
