El Gringo Mexican Hermosa Beach

We have had dinner at this restaurant three times recently, and we enjoy it more with each visit.

Great service and ambience. Wasn’t fan of the expresso martini but the pancake was delicious

Cozy local spot for a quieter night with good ambiance. Excellent value, particularly on Wine tuesdays.

I'll start with the positives. The Chilean sea bass I ordered and the steak medallions sandwich my husband got were both delicious. The Caesar salad was good, but it needed to be chopped up more for easier eating. The manager/owner came over to ask about our experience, which was a nice touch. On to the not-so-great aspects. The Parker rolls were overpriced and dry. The dessert, advertised as an apple peach crumble, was actually a berry crumble that was bitter and lacking sweetness. The soda prices were also deemed excessive at $15 for three drinks. Despite these issues, we appreciated the hospitality and friendly staff, and will give this place another try in the hopes of a better experience next time.

The restaurant was excellent and the perfect choice for my daughter's birthday celebration.
