Went for a lunch special: (1 Choose one of the following: Tom Yum Chicken Soup Crispy Spring Roll Tom Yum Vegetable Soup Crispy Spring Roll Two Crispy Spring Rolls (2 Choose a meat: Chicken/Beef/Pork/Tofu/Vegetable/ Shrimp/ Crispy Duck (3 Choose your entree; I went for the tom yum chicken soup and crispy roll with a shrimp Tada style drunken noodle Wide rice noodle stir fried with meat, onion, tomato, green pepper, red bell pepper and Thai basil in basil sauce. Was trying to spice up my tolerance level and this was a bit spicy for me (keep trying me.. . The shrimp was fresh and the noodles were good there was a good amount portion wise for the amount that we paid. I do like how the noodles were wide and thick more texture for me with the noodles. The flavor however... I wasn't a fan of. It was missing something... And I think my coworker found it in the pad thai haha. I also got a taste of the crispy duck which felt exactly like how it sounds. Crispy. When you bite into it, it's a crunch haha. Mango sticky rice was added at the end as a dessert... was just alright coconut milk though! Service was good they come by regularly to check up on what you need.
Crispy Duck Noodle Soup *Drops Mic* Was the waiter not having a good day and was accidentally rude to you? Crispy Duck Noodle Soup. Was the Thai decor not to your liking? Crispy Duck Noodle Soup. Was there a dish that you ordered that you didn't like that wasn't Crispy Duck Noodle Soup? Crispy Duck Noodle Soup. Thai Tada's Crispy Duck Noodle Soup outweighs any negatives you have on this place. I've tried 10+ Thai restaurants in the DMV area that offer duck noodle soup and they all paled in comparison. Some offer the duck with the bone which is annoying to eat. Some offer the duck without the skin which is flavorless. And some offer the duck with the skin, but the skin gets soggy. Thai Tada's duck is boneless and the skin is attractively crispy! I've never came across something so extraordinary. If you don't like their Crispy Duck Noodle Soup then you should rush to the nearest hospital to have an emergency check on your tastebuds.
Ironically I found out about this place after talking to my friend about it, and thinking the whole time that he was talking about Tara Thai, a completely different restaurant that I frequent! So I decided to give it a try. Although I only ordered takeout, the woman who I spoke with on the phone and who I picked up the food from was very friendly and pleasant. The inside of the restaurant is also very cute and inviting. We got the tod mun to start with, and I'm honestly pretty picky when it comes to tod mun because the fishy flavor can be overwhelming sometimes--but theirs was delicious. It was really flavorful with more than just that fish taste, and perfectly complemented by the peanut-cucumber sauce. The Tada Drunken Noodles were pretty good, but it definitely could've used more bell peppers because there were barely any in it. The Fresh Ginger chicken was also really fresh tasting (ha) and flavorful, and the rice it came with was definitely good quality, but it did not have any mushrooms like the menu said it would so we were kind of disappointed by that. Overall, good food a cute place that I'd definitely be down to come to again!
Went here for dinner last weekend and had an amazing time! For appetizers, I have tried the Crispy Spring Rolls, Thai Steamed Dumplings, and Crispy Calamari. Everything was served perfectly! My date has Tom Yum Shrimp, Larb and Green Papaya Salad, which he enjoyed so much. The owner was nice enough to make his papaya salad spicier. I had the Thai Tada Crispy Duck, which was served on a sizzling plate. This dish was seriously impressive. I don't really eat duck regularly but I was quite amazed on how they made the duck extra crispy. The iced coffee was so addicting I had two glasses. The servings are quite huge so make sure you have somebody to share with or you're very hungry when you visit. Would love to eat here again!
Ordered takeout from here through Yelp for the first time. I ordered their Tofu Panang curry. They offer 4 different spice levels and I found that medium was a good heat for me. The curry was delicious and came with enough food to leave me lunch for tomorrow! I did find it odd that there wasn't any type of vegetable mixed in with the tofu (most other Thai restaurants do this). However, the tofu was perfectly prepared and the curry was delicious! Delivery took longer than originally predicted and the arrival time was changed through the app just before they arrived. My food was lukewarm and I had to reheat it in the microwave.
