Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe booked 7 nights based in the lovely experience we had at another Weatherspoon's hotel. This hotel let us down. Drab, brown, depressing decor, matching the personality of a miserable desk clerks who was more interested in her computer than guests. Must be a franchisee as I doubt an employer would approve. Food was dismal as well. Ordered bacon butty, simple right? Got cold greasy bacon. Tried fish chips, normally a big Weatherspoon's winner, got cold chips. Fortunately, we moved on and the Weatherspoon's restaurant experience improved in Dundee, Edinburgh and Crawley.
If the food had been hot, I would have given this review a 5-star rating without hesitation. It seems that Wetherspoons restaurants across the UK tend to serve cold beans with their breakfast, but the other items are usually hot. We ordered our food through the app, and the server quickly brought us our coffee mugs. She was friendly and efficient, displaying a high level of professionalism. She noticed a coffee stain inside my mug and promptly replaced it. When the coffee machine ran out of coffee, she immediately took care of it. However, the breakfast arrived just four minutes after ordering, and the bacon and beans were cold, while the sausage and hash browns were lukewarm. This made for a less-than-enjoyable dining experience. The breakfast items looked delicious, but it's essential for food to be kept at a hot temperature of 63 degrees or higher, and reheated items should be served at 82 degrees or higher. It's not acceptable to continue serving cold and lukewarm food. While we are loyal supporters of Wetherspoons and have been for years, we urge them to address the issue of food temperatures at not just this location, but many others as well.
My family and I stopped by King's Highway for lunch during a shopping trip. We ordered two mixed grills, but were disappointed when they arrived cold and with unclear meat identification. The tables and plates were dirty upon our arrival, which was off-putting. The boys' pizzas also seemed cold, as if they had been stored in a fridge. When we brought up our concerns about the temperature of the food, the manager's defensive and unprofessional attitude was not appreciated. It may be beneficial for him to consider attending a customer service and complaint management course. Overall, we will not be returning to this establishment.
It can be a bit of a hit or miss when visiting here, but thankfully on our visit this week, it was really good. Lovely and clean on arrival, with staff going around clearing and cleaning tables, which is always nice to see. Food and drink prices creeping up slightly, but still excellent value for money, so so many meal deals available which also include a drink. We only had drinks but it was our first pint of Christmas Ale this year. . What's not to like
The food at this restaurant is a great deal for the price. Most meals come with a complimentary drink. You can easily order through the app and don't even have to get up from your table. Had a great evening overall.
