Makani’s Magic Pineapple Shack - Hilo

I walked from this place and saw the Açai bullets so I had to catch one. A shame that the place closes early, but that seems usual around Hilo. I got a big cookie monster dish to go. Energy before a hike! The bowl was massive, I should have taken the smaller size because my husband didn't help. It was really good and would definitely want to try another and other things. We'll hold back.

The sandwiches at this restaurant are quite generous in size and absolutely delicious. I believe one sandwich could easily serve as two meals. The smoothies are good, but the dragon fruit soft serve is truly amazing. This place is quite popular, especially with the locals, and definitely worth the wait.

Firstly, the staff here are incredible! Despite the long line out the door, they worked quickly to take our orders. I really appreciate that! I highly recommend this place if you're visiting the island. Don't miss it! My favorite dish is the dragon fruit with fruity pebbles. Mahalo!

My wife and I traveled from Miami and we are completely enamored with this restaurant! Everything is just perfect! We tried the Avotastic Sandwich, Aloha açaí, and Dragon Fruit Pitaya, and they were all fantastic. The entire menu looks amazing! The service was exceptional, the staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed. This place is outstanding! Five stars just aren’t enough!

MUST DO IF YOU ARE IN HILO. Best acai bowl ever and massive portion size. My gf and I couldn’t even finish it and we were sharing. We had the cookie blaster acai bowl and it was delicious. So over the top and so fun. Whether you’re passing through or staying in Hilo definitely take the time to stop here
