The Vintage Table Tea Rooms

My daughter wanted to have an afternoon tea for her baby shower, so we decided to visit the Vintage Tea Room. The tea room had a section that was beautifully decorated for the occasion. We opted for the standard afternoon tea, which was £9.95 per person. The food was delicious and elegantly presented. The staff was attentive, helpful, and polite. My daughter had a lovely time. After booking a luxurious afternoon, the four of us were quite surprised. The table and cutlery were dirty, so the waitress quickly changed them and apologized, mentioning that it must have been overlooked since the arrival of the previous guests. The tea was already on the table for 45 minutes before we arrived, and despite the waitress assuring us that everything was in order, we waited almost an hour for our food to arrive. It was far from luxurious and more reminiscent of a children's party buffet. The sandwiches comprised of ham, tomatoes, crusty bread, chicken salad, and margarine. The sausage rolls, quiches, and cakes did not seem homemade. It felt like a mess, and we started to think that the delay was due to them running out of food and serving us leftovers. To add to the disappointment, a waitress nearby sprayed a strong cleaning agent on a table and started wiping it down, while another waitress placed a dessert on the same table. The smell was overpowering, and when we mentioned it, they apologized and opened a door, but then continued to use the cleaning product on the table. It was so bad that it was almost comical.

We stumbled upon the Vintage Table tea rooms during our exploration near Hinkley (while staying at a nearby holiday lodge). Our child had a great time with the children's afternoon tea, complete with unlimited tea! The two staff members who served us were very welcoming and polite. The sandwiches were delicious, with a variety of fillings to choose from - much better than other places I have been to, as I often don't get a choice. The cakes and scones were homemade and delicious. The scones were so fresh that they were still warm when served, and we could smell the baking from downstairs. We enjoyed our experience so much that we returned on Thursday before leaving, but unfortunately, they had closed early, probably because everything had sold out! Today for coffee and cake dipped. service was prompt and the staff is very friendly. the chicolate cake was delicious and very good value.

Not being able to go out for my birthday today we took the decision to have an Afternoon Tea delivered. What a real treat it was, Freshly made beautifully made sandwiches of varies types, large pieces of scrumptious cakes, lovely large scones and plenty of...cream, jam and coleslaw. Sausage rolls, pork pie and quiche we were spoilt ! Thoroughly delicious and highly recommended,
