Avaliação da contribuiçãoStaff were friendly and willing to chat about ingredients to make sure food was suitable for me. I had the bibimbap with shiitake mushrooms, and vegetable dumplings as a side. Both were really tasty, and my whole meal cost less than £10! The staff also gave us a free sample of a new soup they were testing out, which was delicious. Hitchin doesn't have masses of vegan options, so this cafe is a great addition for veggies in the area : Updated from previous review on 2020-10-29
I had the Kimbap with oyster mushrooms, and it was delicious and freshly made. I would definitely come back to try other dishes!
The menu is quite limited, but the food I tried was outstanding. The mushroom bibimbap was incredibly flavorful and surprisingly filling, and the tofu bags were excellent (though I believe they would be even better with a sauce). There is an allergen list displayed on the wall, but it does mention to double-check for accuracy. It's worth noting that the kimchi contains fish, so make sure to order the mushroom bibimbap without it.
I had the shiitake mushroom bibimbap, tofu kimbap, and tteokbokki, which featured shimmering rice cakes. The sauce from the tteokbokki was great for adding more flavor and moisture to the other dishes. The food was prepared quickly and was both delicious and filling. However, the staff wasn't very friendly or helpful. Without the allergen list on the wall and previous reviews, I would have been concerned about vegan options. They also failed to inform us that the kimchi contained fish sauce, so we had to pretend the dishes didn’t include it.
