Pakkhús - Hofn

My husband and I happened upon this restaurant and it was a truly special treat! The building is an old warehouse and the decor is great. The food and service were both wonderful. Our server was attentive to my Gluten Free requests and in fact many items on the menu are GF or can be prepared GF. We shared a soup and grilled shrimp appetizer then the grilled lamb dinner and everything was delicious and plenty of food for 2 people. Don’t miss this restaurant if your’e in Hofn!

On the advice of a local, she told us about this place for dinner. What a beautiful building right next to the harbor. We both had the cod dinner which had four pieces of cod with a mozzarella cheese sauce. Oh, it was sooo good!! Quite reasonable as well. Excellent wait staff and so friendly. The home made bread was delicious and excellent butter from Iceland!! Highly recommend this place, but get there about 5 p.m. when they open as it gets very busy!!

Very good food, everything was really delicious. Very nice and experienced service, I really recommend this restaurant!!!!

We were sent here by a tour guide, with great recommendations and We got there right around 530, and they were able to seat our party of three right away. Our waitress, Sylvia, was very good in answering our questions, and giving us recommendations on our meal. Between the three of us, we had the squid for an appetizer, the cod, the horse, languinstine spring rolls, languinstine soup, and 2 different desserts. When the gentleman brought out the squid, he brought us a crab salad appetizer that they are trying out, on the house—that was phenomenal! If it were on the menu, I would have gotten a full size! All of the good had so much flavor, I was thoroughly impressed! If we were staying more than one night in Hofn, we’d definitely be back!

This is such a busy restaurant and we were lucky to get a table, but we can see why The food was amazing the service great location and ambiance really good
