Avaliação da contribuiçãoThere was a short wait when my friend and I went on a Friday night but got seated relatively quickly since we were a small party. I got the tan tan and she for the spicy tan tan level 3. We both enjoyed our food. Seemed like a lot of noodles in there because we kept eating and our bowl looked almost untouched. Chashu was tasty and I enjoyed all components of the bowl. This place is my go to place for tantan. I also enjoyed their mapo tofu ramen.
What a clean nice place to have very good ramen. I had the Tan Tan seafood ramen which had chunks of calamari and prawns with spinach in a wonderful chicken-based broth seasoned with salt, soy sauce (shoyu), some miso, and sesame paste. It has a little chili and white pepper as well. The seafood was very good and that old freezer burned stuff that some places serve. The service was excellent and fast. My only negative statement is their beer tap was broken so only ice water to drink. I'm sure they'll get it fixed soon. Awaiting parts. Worth the stop for a pleasant atmosphere, great service and wonderful food.
Solid ramen. Would have a docked a star because the service was REALLY spotty the last couple of times we were there, i.e. last time we were ignored for almost the full meal by our server, as I was dying for a refill of my water. And I was a little annoyed our gyoza came out when we were already 2/3 through our bowls of ramen and he looked like he was purposely ignoring us, when he could have at least checked in and give us the latest update. BUT...if I 'm approaching this from a 'fast casual ' angle including low expectations on service and overall cleanliness, then Goma Tei definitely rocks a mean bowl of ramen, though their version of Char Siu isn 't my favorite...thick, drier cut). Gyoza wasn 't bad either (they 're quite plump/filling). I had my doubts as the menu is all over the place and reads more Chinese than Japanese in my opinion, with what seems like way too many options...but my ramen didn 't disappoint, though I wish I had opted for the Tan Tan the rest of my party ordered. That broth is killer! Loved it when I tried, great balance of salt/miso/shoyu. Umami for sure. I 'll definitely get that next time and nix shoyu ramen for good.
We came to Goma Tei in the Ala Moana Mall (just outside of the Makai FC) for dinner after our afternoon got rained out on the North Shore. We were craving something warm since we were soaked earlier the day from the tropical storm. It was around 7pm. Sign-in sheet is on the back of the front door with options for bar or table seating or either. We got a table within 10 minutes and tables are evenly spaced out inside. They ask you keep your mask on until your food arrives and have 1 person in your party complete a small paper for contact tracing. We ordered the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen (Level 1) and the Fish Dumpling with Hot Sour Soup. Service was fairly quick and restrooms are clean. I actually didn't expect the Fish Dumpling one to also come with Ramen noodles, but it does. My bf liked the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen more, while I liked the Fish Dumpling with Hot Sour Soup more. Both were good though, just personal preference. Char Siu was tender and fell apart easily, level 1 spicy was not spicy at all, peanut/sesame based soup was quite rich in flavor. The fish dumplings had generous amounts of filling, and the hot sour soup was definitely more spicy but I loved the spice level and flavor. Solid choice for ramen if you're in the area.
This restaurant made it on our Oahu faves list! What pulled us into trying this place was when we seen ginger chicken with fried rice on their menu. Ginger chicken and fried rice are one of my boyfriend 's favorite foods and this place has both in one plate so it was a must try! We came as soon as they opened and was greeted by a nice young lady. The interior of this restaurant is spacious and clean. We ordered ginger chicken with fried rice, chicken katsu curry, and goma wings. Every single dish was amazing and we would definitely order it again after trying everything else on their menu. The portions are big and will without a doubt get you full. The fried rice was our favorite part of the meal. The chicken katsu was tender and crispy and the goma wings were perfect. I think we would want to order the goma wings every visit here because they 're just that good. The staff here are nice and friendly. I would highly recommend people to eat here!
