Recently lived in France for 4 years. When I came back to the US, I tried many baguettes at other places, all of which were an abysmal attempt. I can say with certainty, Ken’s has the most authentic tasting baguette that you will find in Portland and perhaps on the west coast. Bravo!
I flew to Portland specifically to buy tarts and canele from Ken's. Earlier this year I was in Paris, Ken's is on par with most, and better than several patisseries. After buying dessert, try the soups and sandwiches, you won't regret it.
Top tier pastries and coffee. Made on site. You can’t go wrong with what you order. Also Ken’s Artisan Pizza is a must-try too!
Being a big fan of french baguettes, sandwiches, charcuterie, I was quite eager to test out Ken's. Unfortunately, it was crowded uncomfortable, the wait to order about 15 minutes, followed by another 45 minute wait for the order to be completed. The croque monsieur was surprisingly bland, with the bread burnt black. Ken's Hero sandwich was also flavorless, with tasteless veggies, acceptable meats, but a Ciabatta bread that was hard as a rock. I've actually had much better at Subway's Jimmy … – show
