Portobello's Italian Bistro

I absolutely love this place! I've been here at least a dozen times, and my husband and I find ourselves eating here about every other Friday. Their steak and cheese subs are the best in town, and their supreme calzones are fantastic! The pizza is also better than most—while the crust is on the thinner side, I wouldn't exactly call it a thin-crust pizza. Their crispy French fries are top-notch, outshining those at nearly any other restaurant in town. I've also tried the seafood ravioli, and it was amazing as well. Dining in this restaurant is always a pleasure because the waitstaff is consistently friendly and efficient, and they play excellent music! The seating is comfortable with sturdy, oversized cushions and arm-free chairs, making it easy for anyone of any size to enjoy their meal in comfort. There's plenty of parking in front, but I'm not sure if a wheelchair would fit through the front door. It looks like a standard single-width door, so if you’re in a wheelchair, it might be a good idea to call ahead and ask about accessibility.

I can't understand why this restaurant isn't packed every day! I'm quite particular about my Italian food. While Olive Garden always has a long line, this place is so underrated and offers food that's ten times better for a lower price. It’s one of my favorite restaurants; I've tried several dishes and have never been disappointed. They even have vegetarian options, and the desserts are amazing! I can't praise this place enough. The staff is also incredibly friendly. I usually don’t write reviews, but every time I visit, I see only a few customers and just can't figure out why! You really need to give this place a chance!

The service was somewhat inconsistent. The food was good, but it didn't quite reach five stars.

Initial service was great, server was friendly and awesome, the portions were huge. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo... The sauce didn't taste anything like parmesan, butter or cream ... It tasted like bland white sauce. Bread was decent, and itwasn't horrible, just bland. My companions spaghetti with meatballs was the same... not bad just on the very basic side .

The food was delicious, and the service was friendly. We would definitely return.
