The Farmhouse - Kansas

I don't like to leave negative reviews, but I can't let this pass. I have been a regular customer here for many, many years. Food and service were always great, which is why I kept returning. I recently ordered several to go meals. They were packaged horribly. No napkins or silverware and the fried food (which was way overcooked) had melted through the styrofoam container. Since the take over of the Farm House by the new Owners, I have dined there 3 times. 1st time was very much like the original, food and servicer were great and worth it. 2nd time the food was not so great, service was great due to the waitress that had worked there for sometime from what I gathered. Then while we were waiting for out deserts to arrive, we were asked to settle the bill. Great service, excellent, excellent food. When we are in Abilene this is the only place we eat.

My wife and I have been numerous times under the old ownership. Most everything was good. Service was always great, food was good but really nothing outstanding, but overall no complaints. Their house dressing, which they used to sell by the bottle (not sure if they still do), is amazing.

We went here to eat at 12:45 today, the website says they are open but their signs said closed and no one answered phones.
