Avaliação da contribuiçãoI have been to Smack Dab 3-4 times in the last couple of months. They changed their menu and it would appear that they have a heavy approach to a summer menu. Not a lot of salads and not really enough appetizers to go the tapas route. I was there for lunch each of the times and can comment on a few of the menu items. First, the fish and chips is definitely worth having and my go to when nothing else is appealing. They have very good pizzas and the hamburgers do look amazing. The second visit I was there they announced that the hamburger at the table across from us was the last one Now that summer is in full swing, I am guessing that wouldn't happen. The mussels are quite tasty if you like your flavours mixed together, I personally like garlic and wine or coconut but not with chorizo sausage. Others I am sure love it. As with the seafood chowder. A friend of mine walked by as I was reviewing the menu and raved about it so I decided to order it. Now, I have had clam chowder in Boston on the harbour and I want to tell you this is definitely not what you would be expecting and frankly, I was a little disappointed, as was one of my friends. For $13 we had a moderate cup of soup with one small prawn, two small squares of salmon, and a few small pieces of potato and other accents. Not much flavour and definitely not much soup. But that's OK it was only meant to be a starter so I guess if the server had been able to describe the soup better, one would know it was not really going to be much. I wish I had had the fish and chips. I think the most disturbing part was when one of our party paid with cash and the server promised to return with her change, when she did, she kept it in her pocket and asked "do you want you change"? That was too much. No tray with your change or opportunity to decide on the amount just an embarrassing way to guarantee a tip. Not impressed. One of my friends said they won't come back. I have been coming for years and have been disappointed before so I can't say that but I would like to say that they should bring back a proper breakfast. When people are on holiday it would be nice and even locals like to eat breakfast overlooking the water. A makeshift buffet doesn't cut it. When I am on holiday I like to have eggs Benedict. Guess the Eldorado next door gets that nod. It is a great place to sit outside and have a drink and to take visitors to but only for a snack. You can order gluten free pizza which is a bonus.
We were there for lunch on a beautiful sunny day.The view of Okanagan lake from the patio is really nice and it was good to watch people out enjoying the water. Our food was very good and we enjoyed very attentive service. Our group ordered the chicken burger, beef burger and the fish tacos. All were very good and large portions. Yes it's a little on the pricier side, but a great place for lunch with a view of the lake!
We've been visiting Kelowna for multiple years and have always stayed at Manteo
Always a happy surprise to find a place that is good in all respect. Nice seating and ambiance, inside and out - especially out weather permitting - a varied menu with realistic pricing. Pleasant personable staffand service. An all around good choice. and down the road from home. Isn't that how it always works, or, should ;)
Stayed at the hotel and left the kids up in our room watching a movie. This was a very nice surprise. Wonderful view, and nice atmosphere.Calamari app was great. Loved the tempura vegiies and jalapeño pieces mixed in. Service was very good, and wonderful waiter. Really enjoyed the tuna nicoise, it was light and tasty. My wife liked her chicken and prawns butnot as much as she liked my dish.Overall beautiful setting, great service and very good food. A great surprise since i thought we were just eating in a hotel restaurant. Will try to go again before we leave because it was that good.
