It almost felt like I was walking the streets of San Francisco, with art galleries lining the hills and people bustling with passionate hearts. It was hard to tell from the outside if this place was a quirky coffee shop, a captivating art gallery, or a notable bar that I had never heard of before. The foyer was adorned with charming couches, love seats, and chairs, with beautifully decorated shabby chic walls. As I made my way through the foyer, I discovered a mix of a boutique, wine bar, and coffee house, showcasing local artists' work that could be enjoyed with a glass of wine or coffee in hand. While the atmosphere downstairs was calm and soothing, I could feel the energy drawing me back in. Upon entering the foyer again, I noticed a red rope tied to the staircase, where a courteous gentleman asked if I had come to relax, to which I enthusiastically replied yes! He chuckled and invited me upstairs. As I reached the top of the stairs, a 45-year-old, well-traveled artist and socialite, I took a deep breath and smiled. The crowd upstairs was lively, alluring, and vibrant. The décor was reminiscent of an old cigar bar, with dimmed lights, flickering candles, and music that tempted people to get up and dance. Approaching the bar, I was handed a drink menu that piqued my curiosity with its fascinating concepts that were unfamiliar to me. I must say that 4 out of the 5 imaginative drinks seemed more like a meal than a beverage. That alone would have earned them 5 stars. The staff behind the bar were not only skilled but also friendly, enthusiastic, and, best of all, charming without being pretentious. This bar offered me an experience that I had not encountered elsewhere - a place to meet and mingle. It definitely deserves a solid 5-star rating as one of the best new bars in the area without a doubt. Cheers to Breathe!
This wonderful restaurant is like stepping into a charming empire filled with locally made items and antiques. The reasonable prices make dining in the beautifully decorated room even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the drinks are creative and delicious. The sweet potato Manhattan was excellent, and the signature smoked old fashioned was a delight to watch being made by bartender Mike Duquette. It was a real crowd pleaser! The bar snacks, including olives and roasted garlic, were also delicious.
I hosted a bachelor party for my fiancée over the weekend at this restaurant and it was an amazing experience! The staff was very polite and the drinks were great and affordable. They even decorated our table beyond our expectations! The DJ/Chef was fantastic and very considerate. The bride's sister was pregnant and he placed a towel on the stage to prevent her from slipping. We will definitely be returning!
The facility at this place puts many places to shame in my hometown Winston-Salem. bartenders are friendly and fast on the pour. mike lawson hosts a great karaoke night on Wednesday.
