Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe had a great experience at Windmills the other night. We were on our way to see the evening show at Old Fort Henry, so stopped in at Windmills for a quick dinner. The menu had a good variety of choices of appetizers, salads and entrees but in the end we all decided on a pizza. Mine was gluten free with pesto, tomatoes and mushrooms. The portions were quite large for individual servings and very tasty. We were able to enjoy the outdoor patio. Out server was very good and the service was prompt.
A store owner in downtown Kingston recommended Windmills as a good lunch stop for us with 3 teenagers - all picky eaters and one who is a vegetarian. There is an outdoor patio and a constant flow of customers. Inside was lively though smokey from the grill. The menu covers breakfast, brunch and lunch including an extensive bar menu. Lots of options for those seeking vegetarian and vegan options. The waitress was attentive with water though is took a while for the food to come. Tasty food and lots of it.
Had a very good lunch at Windmills. The restarant is nicely decorated with local artwork and has a very friendly atmosphere . The food and service was very good. Would go back there again.
I really enjoyed french toast with some sunflower seeds. However, apple crepes seemed to be too sweet for me. If you are experiencing sugar craving, go for it. :-)
I had heard that this restaurant was 'expensive but worth it', so I was pleasantly surprised to find that even in the evening there are selections (including main courses) available for under $20. It certainly isn't expensive at all compared with Toronto. All the pizzas and pasta dishes are under $20. Even the striploin was only $25 and I was pleased to see that they know how to cook 'medium well'. At most places you get dry, overcooked meat. The appetizers are generous, so be careful about ordering more than one each as you run out of room for dessert. The large Caesar salad is LARGE for instance! The one drawback is that it is really popular on weekends. We have tried to eat here before but there was no room so this time we made a reservation. There is no need to park on the street as there is a huge parking garage and a parking lot close by.
