Though maybe not the best sushi in japan, the price and quality is quite good. We had omakase (11 pieces) and 12 other pieces of sushi a la cart with a bottle of Kyoto sake and our total was around 6000 JPY. That’s pretty good. The scallops are really fresh and sweet! Uni was quite good for japan (can’t beat Santa Barbara uni straight from the fishing boats though) each sushi is about 150-450 JPY which is totally reasonable. Lots of local salaryman sitting in the restaurant (smoking is allowed) as well as many foreign tourists too. Friendly and helpful service with easy English menu. Would recommend someone who wants good sushi without splurging!
My wife and I went here after reading the reviews. Overall, the place is fabulous! We’ve been in Japan for almost a week and this is the best meal we have had. The sushi was superb and the service friendly and timely (no English). The prices were amazing—dinner for 2 sake was $62! The only circumstances under which I wouldn’t strongly recommend—if you care about ambiance and/or cigarette smoke really bothers you. Little care has been out into the aesthetic and some customers were smoking as it’s not prohibited at the restaurant. But please go-really great!!!!
It’s a lovely family owned sushi restaurant. Value for money, food is raw and fresh.
I ordered the middle selection of Nigiri Sushi and with Toro Nigiri (Fatty Tuna , it was so good and the lady also gave me a brief explanation of what consisted in each sushi selection before I confirmed the order, which I thought was helpful :
