Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe recently visited Barra and had drinks or lunch here several times. The ambiance and tropical lagoon view were very unique and relaxing. The family that owns and runs the restaurant were very kind and let us leave our bikes safely at the restaurant while...we took a panga across to Barra. This was also one of the few restaurants we found that offered fresh coconuts a constant quest for me when we're south which they were happy to prepare and serve at the table for about C$2. We also had lunch here twice. The handmade salsas are smoky, spicy and delicious. I tried a couple of types of octopus/pulpo and my husband loved the pollo asada. The food here is not, honestly, five star but it was fresh and good. The view forgave any culinary sins in our experience.
I love tacos and all foods Mexican. We never do the all inclusive options at the hotels because we live exploring the local food. This restaurant does some amazing stuff and I'll be going back next trip! Try the oysters too!
Had a late tasty lunch on a deck on the beach along the shore line. You could also sit with toes in the sand if you didn't want to sit on the raised wooden deck. Best freshly squeezed margarita in Mexico ever. Friend had shrimp...which she loved. She has lived here in this area for 20 years during winter it is my first time visiting. We saw tourist people arrive by boat mostly. Locals came by car.
A friend of mine recommended this restaurant in Colimilla. I think there are 3-4 restaurants in that area. You can reach the restaurant from Barra de Navidad (they have a skiff that takes you there) or from Hotel Isla Navidad (they have a boat as...well) if you are staying there. You can also drive there if you have a car. As we were ready to board the skiff that would take us there from our hotel, a couple arriving to the hotel also recommended this restaurant. I am so glad we ate there! Music was playing as we sat our hungry selves down on the deck with views of the waterfront. Our server promptly brought us menus, two cold Victoria's, and a huge plate of guacamole with tostadas and chips. We ordered the grilled lobster and the breaded shrimp and cleaned the plates. We could have sat there all afternoon enjoying the food, drinks, music, and views.
Went with a large group and felt pretty much ignored. Might have been that another group had an ooompah band that night. We ordered sashimi knowing that it might not look the same as the US. it was ceviche and it was the worst we 've...had. We also ordered the Colima special fish roll. Tough and tasteless. Everyone 's food arrived at different times. One had the 'banana fish, ' another local specialty. The plantains were plentiful and delicious. The shrimp in garlic were unremarkable. Chicken was acceptable. Coconut shrimp looked heavy. This is one of 4 or 5 restaurants in the Barra de Navidad area but the others are better bets
