World Of Beer - Lady Lake

WOB Spanish Springs in The Villages, FL, is not the place to be on a Monday night. They are clearly not equipped to handle large crowds after Happy Hour. It took 35 minutes for someone to acknowledge our party of three, and that was only after I had to flag down a waitress. Our drinks took 45 minutes to arrive for two people in the group, and even after ordering a flight of four beer samples, I was still waiting 55 minutes later—no beer in sight. When I inquired about my order, I finally received a single sample 10 minutes later, while another person in our group had already been served two beers before mine was even filled. It seems that WOB struggles to fulfill flight orders. The burgers we had were fantastic, but the service was extremely disappointing. If the waitress had offered to cover one of my beers as compensation for the inconvenience, I wouldn't be writing this review. While I understand that many places are dealing with staff shortages, the handling of the situation left much to be desired.

I waited about an hour for a burger that was served well done, even though I requested it medium. People who arrived after us received their food much sooner. My friend ended up with undercooked sweet potato fries. Overall, the food was quite disappointing. Another friend ordered a Beyond Burger, which had some spoiled toppings—possibly a bad piece of lettuce. On a previous visit, my friends tried to order several beers from the menu only to find out they were unavailable. I honestly can't think of any redeeming qualities about this place. It was, without a doubt, the worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time.

My daughter went to the restaurant with a friend and raved about how good it was, so she wanted us to try it out. However, my experience with her and four other people was the worst. The service was terrible. We waited two hours for our food, while other tables that arrived after us were served long before we were. No one ever checked on us to see how we were doing or if we needed drink refills. The table behind us seemed to have forgotten about their food, except for one man. In the end, they brought his meal out in a box after everyone else at his table had finished eating. We were all very disappointed, especially my daughter, who had high hopes. I believe there are much better options out there.

As a fan of Belgian beer, I was thrilled to find one of my favorites, Chimay, on tap here. They offer a great selection of beers, and the burgers are excellent. The Soft Pretzel appetizer is delicious and so massive that it’s best to share it with a friend.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant due to the poor service from the bartender. There were constant "uhhs" and "I don’t know" responses regarding the beers on tap and their comparisons. It took over 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us after we joined our friends who were already there, which left me feeling completely ignored. While the beer was very cold and enjoyable, the overall service was lacking. I'm uncertain if I will choose to return.
