Applesway - Lake Jackson

I was excited because I love a traditional American restaurants and I was expecting a great lunch sandwich to keep my day going great as it had started. I should have listened to the red flags and walked out as soon as I walked in. I saw an employee who was walking out with a cigarette that was lit and even if she had just lit it up, it was very disrespectful. I gave them the benefit of doubt and sat myself. The waitress was not very happy and seemed to be upset about something and basically took it out on us, but I let it be because I don't know what she's going through. If I had to guess, I would say that it might be part of management because I saw a man who looks like the manager or the owner and he was talking to a waitress and it was more flirting going on than an actual conversation and he had no care about anybody seeing him go about his touching and whispering Into her ear. I went ahead and ordered my chicken salad sandwich and when I got it I couldn't believe that something so simple as a chicken salad sandwich could be so disappointing because the bread was hard, the chicken salad was very warm which made the mayonnaise taste very spoiled. I tried to tell the waitress, but she did nothing to help, offer another sandwich or even apologize for the terrible sandwich. That's when I asked for my check to pay and leave as soon as possible. Thank God I did because I went to McDonald's and had a McChicken sandwich that made the Chicken Salad sandwich at Happlessway (that's my new name for them) seem like the food that I've seen served on Prison TV shows. Stay away from Haplessway and go to any other fast food restaurant to keep your happiness intact and shame on that owner or manager that only cared about his self gratification. Stay away please!!!

Today I ordered what used to be my favorite egg sandwiches an broccoli cheese I couldn’t even finish my bite of soup it was terrible awful tasted burnt an greasy this place has changed tremendously I’ve been eating this place for 15 years an never once had a bad experience... this is also the first review I’ve ever written

Service is always nice even when they have a full house. Looking forward to a return visit. The place has a great feel to it.

Since the new owners took over, the food here has totally gone downhill. Sandwiches are smaller, salads have different ingredients, the dressings are nowhere near as good, and even the pies are tasteless. They would have been better off just starting their own restaurant, rather than taking over someone else's and changing everything. So disappointing.
