Ihop - Lake Jackson

My husband and I visited the restaurant on Friday morning around 9 AM. We only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table, which was great. However, it took about 10 minutes for a waitress to come and take our order. We ordered breakfast along with coffee. She brought us two cups of coffee but mentioned she would be back with the pot. Our food arrived fairly quickly, was hot, and was exactly as we had ordered, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, we still didn’t receive any coffee. When the waitress finally returned to pour more coffee, the pot was broken. She said she would get us another pot but never returned. We didn’t see her again until she brought our bill. It would have been nice to enjoy a second cup of coffee. Overall, the food was excellent, but the service was lacking.

I absolutely love their chocolate chip pancakes topped with strawberries. Right now, they have some Wonka specials, and I tried the Hoverchoc pancake tacos. They were amazing!

Our waitress was the highlight of our experience. Unfortunately, the food lacked flavor. The bathroom was not clean, and the wait time to be seated was excessive, especially since there were plenty of empty tables available.

Unfortunately, the night shift manager was not helpful at all. Instead of supporting him, she just stood around doing nothing while clearly seeing how busy he was. As a manager, she should have been stepping in to assist with tasks like pre-bussing and refills. It was disappointing to see that she didn’t even show a smile. I work in the restaurant industry, and it's clear that she doesn’t understand the concept of teamwork. Jerry shouldn’t have to shoulder all the responsibilities for the low pay of a server, especially when the management is slacking off. If the manager isn't willing to put in the effort, then perhaps Jerry should take on the role of management instead.

The young man who handled my to-go order was both polite and humorous. He made sure that my two separate orders were perfect, and even packaged the condiments correctly.
