Koto Teriyaki - Lakewood

This is the dirtiest restaurant I have ever worked in. The owner enforced a rule that all containers in the kitchen cannot be cleaned with soap and are only rinsed out haphazardly. Additionally, the prep cook does not receive any tips.

The staff did not inquire whether I qualified for a Veteran or Senior discount.

In the three years that my husband and I have lived in Tacoma, this restaurant is by far the best for this type of cuisine! The fried rice is incredible, and my husband also really loves the beef short ribs.

The food here is incredibly delicious. The dishes are beautifully presented, the restaurant is well-maintained and clean, making it a pleasant spot for lunch or takeout. The tofu teriyaki was outstanding and perfectly crisp! The Lo Mein was flavorful and satisfying. I really wish this place was closer to home so it could be my go-to takeout spot. I would definitely recommend it and would happily return! 10/10!

I absolutely love Asian cuisine, and I've visited many teriyaki spots in the Lakewood area. However, this place is my top choice when I want something familiar and delicious. Their egg rolls are unmatched—I'm not sure you can find a better version anywhere else. All their fried rice dishes are made fresh and cooked to perfection. And the chicken teriyaki? So tasty! The food is always served hot, and the portions are quite generous; you definitely get your money's worth with the fried rice, which is always loaded. While their prices have increased like many restaurants these days, it's still worth it. I’ve included their latest menu for those interested. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention that the two ladies at the front register are incredibly friendly. The dining space is quite small, so we usually opt for takeout. I place my order over the phone, and it’s ready for pick-up in just 15 minutes. Overall, it's a fantastic spot!
