Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe go there for breakfast once a a month or so. Their breakfast special is great -3 eggs and all the accoutrements that go with a large breakfast. Its a homey' restaurant with a varied menu and chalk boards on the walls promoting their many home cooked and baked offerings. Fast and polite service. Great downtown location. Very popular and can get quite busy at times.
This was my first visit to Kalma Family restaurant. I enjoyed the atmosphere , the variety of menu and the pricing of all suggestions. The quality and quantity was out of this world. I ordered Keith's Omelette and wow what a surprise. So much to see ans so much to eat. I ended up taking home half of the food for breakfast the next morning. Just GrEEEEat !!.
Invited my pastor out to brunch after the service at IHOP but as usual, there was a wait as there always is on Sundays after church. He suggested this Kalma place in oild downtown Langley as an alternative. Having lived in the area for almost 30 years, I had never heard of this place. WOW !!! What a find !!! This has got to be the best kept secret in the Fraser Valley. The food was home cooked, not the industrialized fare you get at IHOP. The pancakes were HUGE and fluffy. I ordered this complete breakfast meal that included 3 eggs, ham, sausages, choice of pancakes or hashbrowns, toast and coffee. That 's right it was not a pick only one meat it was you get them ALL !!! . My pastor had a clubhouse sandwich and it must have been 3 inches high and more home cooked fries than anyone could eat. The service was fast, the food was hot and it was OH SO GOOD but the best part was the price. Honestly, I don 't know how they make a living. Because we were there to talk, not so much to eat, we must have had 4 coffee refills. Never once did we feel rushed out the door by our waitress, who in spite of serving what seemed half the restaurant, always had a smile. We gave a 25% tip but in retrospect, we should have given her more because 25% of Kalma 's prices is like tipping 15% at IHOP, except we got better food, better service, and way more deliciious home cooked food. If I could give 6 stars for service and price, I would, but this review site is limited to 5 stars
Me and my friends saw this place a few doors down from the Value Village. Rundown place, but we wanted something quick. I ordered the roast beef dinner and got rotten food and slimy vegetables. Overly salted cheap sandwich meat, a wilted salad I didn 't touch it, and slimy veggies. Wow so disgusting. Before I could complain, the waitress came over and said oh I will take $1 off the price since I noticed the portions looked a bit small . What a joke. Stupidly, I saw a big sign with desserts and thought lets try to kill the bad aftertaste . So I ordered an apple pie. Sorry that 's sold out . So I asked for the rice pudding. Nope we don 't have any of that either . So I asked for a cinnamon bun. No we 're out of that too. Really? So I asked what they had available. Well we have some of the lemon meringue pie. No thanks. We left with zero respect for the thoughtless server or the disgusting cook who had nothing but contempt for me and my friends. The bill would have been cheap if they had actually served us something worth eating but they should have paid me to be seen coming here it was so bad. I will never go back. Eat here at your own risk. Wow this place is gross.
We are trying new restaurants in Langley and this one popped up. In a strip mall east of the casino. The menu is well stacked with lots of basic favourites and all day breakfast. The prices are good and the portions also very good. There was karaoke the Saturday evening we were there, and well the quality poor, but the Elvis wannabe was decent.
