Maximus Polish Cusine - Lawrence

We were excited to try this new restaurant in town. My husband started with the Herring in Old Polish Style. He enjoyed it but mentioned he might choose something different next time. I ordered the Pierogies with potatoes and cheese, which were decent but a bit oily and lacking in salt (there was no salt on the table). I also tried the Potato Pancakes, which were similar—fine but could have used more salt and were a bit greasy. Both dishes would have benefited from some sour cream, but we only received one small ramekin. My husband had the Goulash Soup and really liked it. Next time, I'd like to try the Pate since we were given a small sample platter, and I found it quite tasty! For dessert, we shared Apple Pie with Ice Cream, which was excellent. The service was friendly as well.

Everything we ordered was incredible—full of flavor and beautifully presented. The pierogis, kielbasa, and golabki were all exceptional!

I don’t want to rate it lower than 3 stars since I’ve only been there once. Perhaps it was just an off day. The pierogi were swimming in oil, the potato pancakes were overcooked, and the kielbasa was tough and dry. It felt more like a hangover diner experience.

Quality Polish cuisine. pricely steep but decor was unique to cold inside to enjoy pullover! otherwise very nice!

We have used maximus only for a take-out, but the entire impression is very good. the menu is extensive, with several choices of appetizers, salads, suppening, main dishes and desserts. the food we ordered was delicious, nicely prepared, the packaging thoroughly and neat. the suppe we have cultivated, barszcz ukrainski (ukrainian borscht) was very good, although rather different than the sorts we used, the variants of maximus was more paved and included kielbasa vs the traditional cooked meat. our main course, kotlet schabowy (polish breaded pork chop) has a very thin drunk pork jar, which is served with domestic bratkartoffels and three different garnishes (bets purée, gurkensalat and another salat). the prices are very low and the professionalism and friendliness of the staff are comme il faut . much and much parking. we only wish that maximus introduces the delivery of third (doordash, grubhub, over eats, caviar). in our day and age, it must be one.
